Registered for Faith Formation 2024-2025 but your family didn’t attend regularly?
Regular attendance in faith formation the year prior to Confirmation is required. Confirmation is not a box to check, but rather, completes one’s initiation into the Catholic church to begin the work of missionary discipleship. Register for and attend 2025-2026 faith formation to be eligible for Confirmation prep 2026-2027.
Not part of Family Faith Formation in 2024-2025?
Register for (and attend!)family faith formation 2025-2026 to be eligible for Confirmation prep next school year!
Recently moved from another parish to Holy Spirit?
If your youth attended faith formation / religious ed 2024-2025, have their former director send a letter to Martha: Your youth may be eligible for Confirmation Prep 2025-2026.
If your child did not attend any faith formation at your previous parish, see answer to question #3.
Go to a Catholic School?
If your child attended 2024-2025, have their theology teacher or principle send a letter to Martha: Your child may be eligible for Confirmation Prep 2025-2026.
If your youth did not attend 2024-2025 but is only now registered for 2025-2026, they will be eligible for Confirmation Prep the following year 2026-2027.
Need First Eucharist AND Confirmation?
Same requirements apply for Confirmation Prep. Additional formation will occur during Confirmation prep year.
Want to join the Catholic Church either through Baptism or a Profession of Faith (for those baptized outside the Catholic church)?
Same requirements apply for Confirmation Prep but the process is slightly different, depending on each circumstance. Email Martha for further conversation.
Who can be a sponsor?
Any person (not the mom or dad) older than 16 who has received all three Catholic Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist (*copies of all sacramental certificates are required)
AND is living a life that follows the teaching of the church (i.e. NOT cohabitating or only civilly married). If single, then living celibately. If married, then married in / or with permission of the Catholic Church. (*copy of sacramental marriage certificate is required)
AND is a registered and active member of their local parish. (*letter or notice of approval from sponsor’s pastor is required)
