Middle School 7th-8th Grade

Holy Spirit offers a variety of opportunities for middle school teens to connect with others and continue growing in their Catholic faith.

Youth Group

The Rock is our youth ministry program for middle school (7th-8th grade) and focuses on building friendships as a Catholic community through games and activities. The Rock provides fellowship, formation, and exposure to the Sacraments, seeking to equip individuals as disciples of Jesus Christ. (Runs September through May)

Dates and Times (Beginning September 2025)

• Meets on Sunday evenings.
• Open to all 7th & 8th graders, Confirmed and non-Confirmed .

Holy Spirit youth attend many different schools, but for simplicity, we follow the Mustang School District schedule for times like Fall, Christmas, and Spring Breaks, as well as cancelations for inclement weather. We communicate information through social media (follow Holy Spirit on Facebook and Instagram), as well as on the homepage of our website.

Most of our direct communication is through FLOCKNOTE texts and emails.

Faith Formation  and Sacramental Preparation 

Our Family Faith Formation program encompasses the faith formation components for all grades.  This is in the hopes of easing our busy families’ calendars; but also to give our families a shared experience to build on within their homes.  The Catechism of the Catholic Church is clear that parents are the primary Catechists and that the Home is the first Seminary.  Our programs operate in the hopes of fostering and supporting those roles. 

Families with youth seeking Confirmation are required to complete at least one year of Family Faith Formation prior to their year of Sacramental Preparation. The year of Sacrament Preparation the family must continue to attend Family Faith Formation, while the youth must also enroll in and complete the Sacrament Preparation program.

Summer Youth Events

Registration and fundraising happens during the school year. Dates and locations for each are subject to change each year.

• Campus Heart Work Camp (CHWC) for those currently in 7th-12th grade.
• Steubenville Youth Conference (Steuby) for those currently in 8th-12th grade.
